Who can live with us?
Amro Vantage provide accommodation for students of all genders and nationalities who are enrolled on a higher education course in the UK, and who are a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of check-in.
Note: you can book a room when you are 17 years of age or over, but can only move-in if you are 18 years or over.
What is the contract length?
The standard contract length is 51 weeks. For shorter term lets and summer lets please contact us regarding availability.
What is included in the room rental?
The rent is all- inclusive and covers your water, gas and electricity bills, super fast internet access and contents insurance. The rent does not include any TV licenses for private television sets or any other costs that are not stated here.
What happens if we are not happy with the room?
You may ask the Property Manager for a change of room. She/he will try their best to accommodate your request subject to availability. However, please bear in mind that different rooms are offered at different prices. The rates are based on a number of things, e.g. size of the room, location in the building and availability.
What do I need to pay before I arrive?
A refundable deposit is payable at the time you book a room. For Greencoat House this is £250, Bright House £495 and Riverside Way is £300. In addition to the refundable deposit, your first instalment of rent is payable prior to your check-in date.
What other charges can I expect?
You would be expected to pay for your use of the laundry, phone calls, your TV licence, and any items purchased from available vending machines.
Can I choose my room in the building?
Rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis. So if you would like to select your room, we advise you to book as early as possible. If you have any special requests regarding your room please let us know at the time of your booking and we will do our best to try and accommodate these.
How do I arrange a viewing?
You can arrange a viewing by completing our Arrange a Viewing form. Alternatively, please email or phone us and we will arrange a convenient time to show you around.
What time is my check in and check out?
Check-out time is 12noon on the date of your move-out.
Standard check-in times are from 10am to 4pm. However, during busy periods, the property manager will pre-arrange a convenient date and time for your check-in with you.
Can I move in Early?
Yes if the room is available. An additional charge may be made depending on how much earlier you move in, please contact the Property Manager if you would like to move in earlier.
Are there social events organised for the residents?
There are a number of social events organised through the year to provide our residents to get to know each other. We would be delighted to see you at our events.
Can you arrange airport pick up service?
We would be happy to arrange an airport pick up for you. All you need to let us know is your name, arrival date and time, flight number, number of suitcases / bags and we will be able arrange a taxi for you. Please ensure that you have sufficient UK Sterling Pounds in cash to pay for the taxi fare, since not all taxis take international credit cards.
Many well-known taxi companies also have their own apps. You may want to compare fares and download an app to order your own taxi to avoid paying in cash.
Can I stay in the property during the summer?
Most of our sites offer summer lets. This would be a separate contract from the standard 51-week contract which covers term time and all holidays during the academic year. Please check with our Property Manager for further information on availability during the summer.
Is there a member of staff available at all times?
Our office hours are between 9:00am – 6:00pm and out-of-office hours are supported by our community ambassadors.
What if my arrival time happens to be before 8am or after 5pm?
We understand that sometimes students need to arrive outside of office hours. As long as we are made aware of the confirmed arrival time at least 4 working days prior to the date, we will have our staff attend at the time the student arrives to check-in.
Will I have Internet in my room?
Yes of course, and it is included in your rent. We have fast wi-fi access at 40mbps at Greencoat House and Bright House. Cathedral Point and Riverside Way has super fast WiFi at 100mbps. You can also bring an ethernet cable to connect to the internet in your bedroom via cable, if you prefer to do so.
Will my room be cleaned?
At Amro Vantage, our housekeeping teams on-site clean all communal areas on a daily basis. Students are expected to keep their own bedrooms and ensuites clean. However you are free to make a direct arrangement for room cleaning with our house-keeping team for a direct payment to them.
Will I have a TV in my room?
Our bedrooms do not have TVs in them. However, you are welcome to bring your own. Just so that you know, in the UK, a TV licence must be purchased by the owner of a TV set before they can view terrestrial or cable TV.. Our Property Manager will be happy to help you set this up.
What happens if I need any maintenance in my room?
Our on-site staff are there to help you resolve any maintenance issue that may occur. Please report it to the office or reception either in person or via an email as soon as you notice the problem. Our dedicated maintenance team will make an appointment with you to fix the problem.
Do you have laundry facilities?
Yes all buildings have laundry rooms with a number of washers and dryers which you can use 24/7. Charges are applicable.
Do you provide bedding?
Students provide their own bedding. However, we can help by providing advice on where it can be easily/ reasonably purchased.
Can I smoke in my room?
No, smoking is strictly prohibited on all our properties in all areas except areas that are specifically designated as smoking areas and have a sign that says so. Please ask the Property Manager at the time of your viewing if you would like to see the designated smoking area.
How do I collect my post?
Our Accommodation Managers will take collections of post for you. Each flat at Cathedral Point and Riverside Way has their own secure mailbox. Greencoat House has also its own secure mailbox. Bright House post will be collectible from the building Office.
Am I allowed to have guests?
Guests are allowed to visit, however, please speak to your Property Manager if you expect that your guest will need to stay over.
Is there a discount for group booking?
Amro Vantage do not usually offer group booking discounts. However, there are offers and promotions running from time to time. Please register your interest by completing one of the online forms or by contacting us and we will let you know of any upcoming offers.
Which room types are suitable for double occupancy?
We do have a few studios that are suitable and comfortable for double occupancy at Greencoat House and at Riverside Way. Please let us know at the time of your inquiry or booking. Both occupants of the room must be full-time students at a UK higher educational Institution, and must be over the age of 18 years.
I have booked a room but failed to obtain a visa, can I cancel my booking?
You are entitled to cancel your booking in the event that your visa does not come through in time. However, we would ask you for proof of your visa being refused.
Can I cancel my booking?
Upon receipt of the email confirming your booking, there is a 7 day cooling off period whereby you may cancel your booking by sending notice to the site via email. Email addresses can be found on their respective web pages.
You may cancel your booking by sending an email to the relevant Accommodation Manager email address listed on the individual property pages. Amro will refund your deposit/booking fee within 14 calendar days of cancellation. If you cancel your booking after the 7 calendar day cool off period, you will not get your deposit/booking fee returned to you. You and your guarantor if reasonable, will be required to meet the obligations set out within the Tenancy Agreement.
