It is hard trying to find a Mother’s Day present on a budget, especially when you are at University and want to gift that mother figure in your life something thoughtful. To make life easier as we know juggling your degree, and your social life we have scoured the internet for some fantastic gifts that won’t break the bank. Don’t forget the 22nd March will come around quicker than you think.
- DIY Hamper
This is an easy one, recycle an old box or visit Poundland for a nice basket and fill it with a variety of goodies from face masks, hair masks to chocolates or candles just make sure you set yourself a limit though!
- Re-Usable Mug
Get them a gift which is both environment friendly as well as pretty. Winchester has plenty of re-fill stations available around so even better if they are planning on visiting you.
- Bake a Cake
Everyone appreciates a good cake and even the better when you have baked it yourself. The choices are endless for this; Victoria Sponge and Chocolate will be the classic and easiest options for you.
If all else fails then head on down and buy one at your local bakery (and don’t forget to discard of the packaging to pass it off as your own)
- Spend Time Together
We know being at University, which can be miles away from home you may not have gone home too often, so why not invite your mum or family down for the day to see your ‘Home from Home’. Meet them at your University accommodation and take them for a tour around town, you could show them off your favourite coffee shop or café; we recommend Josie’s or The Orangery then indulge in some culture by visiting Winchester Cathedral.
